About
The Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival is a pottery culture festival held in Gimhae, one of the leading production sites of buncheong ware from the early Joseon period. It's Gimhae's signature festival, carrying on the value of traditional ceramic culture while giving it a modern reinterpretation. Now in its 31st year, it lets visitors get up close with the unique beauty and artistry of Gimhae buncheong ceramics through exhibitions and sales of works, hands-on pottery making, and pottery demonstrations. Visitors can admire distinctive works by local potters all in one place, and try making pottery themselves, getting hands-on with clay to experience the charm of buncheong ware in a fun, approachable way. The festival also offers programs, performances, and events for children and families, making it a participatory culture and arts festival for all ages that brings traditional ceramic culture into everyday life.
