Goesan Gimjang Festival

The 2026 Goesan Kimjang Festival is a four-day kimchi-making culture festival held from November 5 to 8, 2026, at the Organic EXPO Plaza and Goesan Sports Complex in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Visitors use local ingredients — napa cabbage and cheonggyeol chili peppers grown in Goesan — to make their own kimchi. The two signature programs are "One-Stop Kimjang," where participants pick up pre-reserved salted cabbage and filling at the Organic EXPO Plaza and mix their own kimchi to take home, and "Drive-Through Kimjang," where visitors park at individual booths at the sports complex, make kimchi, and load the finished batch straight into their car. There's also a kimjang experience for kids and teens, a "Kimjang Master's Workshop" featuring kimchi-making experts, and a "World Kimchi Tasting" where you can sample kimchi from different countries. Other highlights include the K-Red Food Street, a grill zone, and the Korea Kimjang Competition. Separately from the festival grounds, villages around Goesan also run their own "Village Kimjang Experience" throughout the month of November.
