About
The 2026 Gijang Eupseong Festival runs from October 9 to 11 on the lawn in front of the Gijang Modern History Museum and the surrounding area. Set against the historic backdrop of Gijang Eupseong fortress and the Modern History Museum, it combines performances, reading events, film, hands-on activities, and guided tours. Main programs include the Eumseong Music Play Bar, a book concert, the "Dongnebangne BIFF" film event, traditional performance arts, challenge dance, the Pungryu Padong performance, a reading club, and a pet reels video contest. At the Modern History Museum, visitors can try the pop-up craft studio, a slow-living healing experience, and a docent-guided walking tour of Gijang Eupseong. Throughout the festival, regular activities also run, including the Gijang Charm-Warding Lab, a companion-stone adoption booth, the Eumseong goods shop, and the Eumseong play zone. Rather than limiting the area's history and culture to performances and exhibits you just watch, the festival is built around programs visitors can actually join and experience.
