국립중앙과학관에서 개최하는 2026 메이커 플레이는 직접 만들고 체험하는 과정 속에서 과학의 원리를 배우고 창의력과 상상력을 키우는 참여형 축제이다. 창작공예 및 로봇, 코딩, AI 등 다양한 분야의 50여개 체험부스를 통해 메이커 문화를 쉽고 재미있게 경험할 수 있는 행사이다. 또한 직접 만든 인형으로 하는 마리오네트 공연에 참여하고, 다양한 재료를 활용해 자동차와 돛단배를 제작해 경주하는 만들레 레이싱도 즐길 수 있는 축제이다. 가족이 함께 만드는 고카트와 스윙카 체험공간도 마련되어 온 가족이 과학과 창작의 즐거움을 나누는 과학문화 축제이다.
