Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival

Selected as Daejeon's flagship festival since 2022, the 17th Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival is the signature autumn festival of Daejeon's Yuseong district. It takes place over 16 days, from October 17 to November 1, at Yurim Park. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of exhibitions, hands-on activities, and performances that showcase both the natural beauty of chrysanthemums and the character of Yuseong as a science city. This year, Hanbit Tower, the symbol of the science city, is recreated as a chrysanthemum sculpture, while the aster chrysanthemum garden has been expanded all the way to Yuseong Stream (below Eoeun Bridge), and a cosmos-lined path has been added around Bando Pond and the Yuseong Stream walkway for a fuller autumn flower landscape. Other activities include a caricature-drawing robot, terrarium-making and other everyday gardening experiences, woodworking, chrysanthemum-related programs, and performances by local university groups and artists. At night, the festival offers moonlight busking, a candle garden concert, wish lanterns, and the Chrysanthemum (Onbit) Cinema, creating an atmospheric nighttime experience worth lingering for. A receipt event and food map tied to shops near the festival grounds are also run to help boost the local economy. Combining beautiful chrysanthemums and autumn flowers with science, art, culture, and rest, the Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival offers a special autumn memory.
