About
The Baekje Cultural Festival began in 1955 with the first Baekje Daeje held in Buyeo-gun, and this year marks its 72nd edition as one of Korea's leading historical and cultural festivals. The festival celebrates Baekje's brilliant culture and long history, carrying forward the spirit and heritage of our ancestors in a modern way while strengthening local identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival will be held over 9 days from Saturday, October 3 to Sunday, October 11, 2026, under the theme 'Beautiful Baekje, Shining Sabi,' across the Buyeo town area. Centered around Jeongnimsa Temple Site, Seoktap-ro, and the Gwanbuk-ri Historic Site, the festival presents around 40 programs across 7 categories including memorial rites and Buddhist ceremonies, historical and cultural parades, performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities, and night views. This year's festival is held throughout the Buyeo town area, creating an open festival where Baekje's history and culture blend with local businesses and residents' everyday life, offering visitors a special experience where past and present coexist.
