Since it began in 2009, it has grown into an event that connects Gangneung's natural scenery, everyday culture, and local businesses, becoming a showcase for the city's own identity. Locals, shop owners, coffee professionals, and visitors gather to enjoy coffee together while sharing Gangneung's stories through humanities talks, art, and local content. A single cup of coffee once sipped while looking out at the sea has grown into a culture the whole city shares, and the festival now stands as a living piece of local heritage that carries the area's history, people's tastes, and community pride.
