About
Mungyeong is a hilly inland region known for its big swings between day and night temperatures, fertile soil, and pristine natural environment, all of which help produce apples with firm flesh, rich aroma, and high sweetness — often called "honey apples." Local apple farmers take great pride in their craft, completing technical training to grow safe, delicious fruit and putting consumers first as self-described "good farmers." The Mungyeong Apple Festival celebrates Mungyeong's Gamhong apples, a nationally renowned premium variety that averages 16.5 Brix in sweetness and is considered one of Korea's best in both taste and fragrance. The festival features events, promotions, and direct sales to spread the word about these apples, and it also runs an online store so that people who can't visit in person can still buy Mungyeong apples. It's a bountiful festival designed so that every visitor can enjoy themselves.
