About
The 2026 Mokpo Port Festival runs for three days, October 16–18, around Mokpo Port and Samhakdo Island. The festival centers on two experiences: the "Traditional Fish Market," which vividly recreates the joy of a full catch and a lively seafood auction, and the "Modern Fish Market," where visitors can explore the shops, streets, and everyday life of the old harbor. It's like taking a time trip through Mokpo's history and culture. You'll find sights found nowhere else, like "Fish Market, Full Catch!"—a reenactment of anchor-net fishing boats coming into port—along with an exciting auction show, a retro harbor street, and a bustling fish market alley. On top of that, there are food programs featuring Mokpo's seasonal seafood, hands-on activities for the whole family, and a variety of performances, all coming together to turn the port's past into a special festival experience today.
