About

The 6th Busan Comprehensive Folk Arts Festival is a traditional culture festival hosted by Busan Metropolitan City that introduces Busan's intangible heritage and traditional folk culture through performances and hands-on activities. It will be held from October 24 to 25, 2026, at Dasom Square in Busan Citizens Park, for both local residents and tourists. The festival is organized into three main areas: Pungnyu Madang, focused on performances; Somssi Madang, focused on hands-on experiences; and Janchi Madang, focused on participatory programs. Pungnyu Madang hosts the opening ceremony along with performances from Busan and other regions' intangible heritage holders, performances by heritage training schools, global performances, special shows, and citizen participation programs. Somssi Madang offers experiences with skill- and art-based intangible heritage, traditional culture-making activities, traditional food tasting, and heritage-care programs. Janchi Madang features a traditional games zone, the Busan Intangible Heritage Art Fair, a traditional crafts market connected to Hanbok Culture Week, a stamp tour, wish-note writing, hanbok rental, and traditional accessory-making experiences. Through performances and interactive activities, the festival offers visitors a close look at Busan's intangible heritage and traditional culture.
