About
The Royal Tombs of Joseon Dynasty World Heritage Festival is a special cultural event designed to share the history and dignity of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Joseon royal tombs and let visitors experience them up close. Through a wide range of programs—performances, tours, hands-on activities, and exhibitions—that blend tradition with modern touches, visitors can encounter the living history and culture preserved within the royal tombs. First launched in 2020, the 2026 Royal Tombs of Joseon Dynasty World Heritage Festival marks its 7th edition, running from the opening ceremony on Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 25. This year in particular, the festival introduces newly designed programs built around each tomb's unique story and historical significance. Visitors can stroll through the sites following the tombs' stories, experience a variety of content, and enjoy a special time discovering the historical value and beauty of the Joseon royal tombs with all five senses.
