About
The Hwasun Unjusa Culture Festival is the signature cultural festival held at Unjusa Temple in Hwasun, a mystical sacred site where a thousand stone Buddhas and pagodas fill every valley. Inside the temple's serene grounds, home to the legend of the reclining Buddha statue that has rested there for a thousand years amid countless stone pagodas, a variety of cultural and arts programs unfold for visitors of all ages. Moving traditional bell-ringing ceremonies and pungmul (farmers') music performances, along with musical acts of many genres, keep the festival lively, while hands-on missions to explore the temple grounds and traditional culture experiences round out the program. As autumn deepens, this is a chance to travel through time into the mysterious legend of the thousand Buddhas and thousand pagodas, finding warm rest and making special memories along the way.
