선유도공원은 차가운 폐정수장 구조물 위에 푸른 자연을 피워낸 곳이다. 영등포선유도원축제는 우리나라 최초의 환경재생 생태공원인 선유도공원의 정취, 자연과 예술의 조화를 느낄 수 있도록 기획된 축제이다. 주요 프로그램으로는 탐조 활동을 통해 공원의 생태환경과 조류를 살펴보는 새산책, 가족과 연인 등이 참여할 수 있는 야외 요가, 공모를 통해 선발된 팀들의 공연으로 구성되는 거리예술축제가 있다. 또한 영등포 주민들이 기획한 ‘시월의 선유’ 플리마켓과 무대 프로그램이 함께 운영되어 풍성한 볼거리와 먹거리, 이벤트 등이 많이 진행될 예정이다.
